The Mythic Storm King weapons are some of the most powerful and sought-after schematics in Fortnite Save the World. If you’re trying to unlock them, you’re going to need to complete a specific chain of quests first. This guide covers everything — whether it’s your first time or you’re farming weekly.

What Are the Mythic Storm King Weapons?

There are 5 Mythic Storm King schematics in total, all obtainable through the Mythic Storm King encounter at the end of Twine Peaks. Each one is a top-tier weapon used by endgame players. Once you collect all five, you’ve completed the full set.

First Time? Here’s What You Need to Do

If you’ve never done the Mythic Storm King before, you need to complete two prequests first:

Step 1 — Complete Twine Peaks Storm Shield Defense 5

You need to push your Twine Peaks Storm Shield to Defense level 5. This is a progression requirement and cannot be skipped. Not in Twine Peaks yet? Here’s the fastest way to get there.

Step 2 — Complete the “King Me” Quest

After SSD5, the King Me quest will become available. Complete it to unlock the Regicide quest — a one-time quest that opens the door to the Mythic Storm King encounter.

Step 3 — Defeat the Mythic Storm King

Head to the “Enter the Portal” mission at the end of Twine Peaks. Defeat the Mythic Storm King to receive a Mythic Schematic Cache.

Already Done It Before? Here’s the Weekly Loop

Once you’ve completed the Mythic Storm King for the first time, the process becomes a repeatable weekly cycle:

1. Complete the “Scions of the Storm King” Weekly Quest
2. This unlocks the “Defeat the Mythic Storm King” Weekly Quest
3. Complete the Enter the Portal mission and defeat the Mythic Storm King again
4. Collect your Mythic Schematic Cache

You can do this once per week to keep collecting schematics.

How the Mythic Schematic Cache System Works ?

This is the part a lot of players don’t fully understand. When you pick up a Mythic Schematic Cache:

• If you’re missing any of the 5 schematics, you will receive one you don’t have yet — no duplicates until you own all five
• Once you own all 5 schematics, future drops will be a random duplicate from the set

This means the game guarantees you’ll complete the full collection before duplicates start dropping. No wasted runs.

The Problem: It’s Gated Behind Prequests

Here’s where a lot of players get stuck. If you haven’t completed Twine Peaks SSD5 and the King Me quest, you simply cannot access the Mythic Storm King encounter. These prequests are mandatory and there’s no way around them in normal gameplay.

Additionally, each run requires completing the full “Enter the Portal” mission — which is a demanding endgame fight that not every player is equipped for.
